Music has always been a huge influence in my work and life in general. Wanting to do more music related projects, I decided to start a personal collection of illustrated covers for mixtapes shared via Instagram, Spotify and Substack.

Each week the selection of music varies from underground Colombian music, to jazzzy hip-hop, to instrumental music, salsa or whatever it is that I’m obsessed with. The only rule is to stick to a maximum run time of 90 minutes for each playlist, as if it were a cassette mixtape.

Based on the musical selection; could be an artist, a song or just the feeling I of the mixtape, I go about doing the illustration in one sitting while listening to the playlist. Here’s the current collection of covers and mixtapes from this project so far.
